A message from our Chair
A Message from Stephen Lowry – Chair, PFA Northern Ireland
As another season gets underway, I’d like to wish every player across the NIFL Premiership and Championship the very best for the months ahead.
Pre-season is over, the hard work has been done, and now it’s time to enjoy what we all love – playing football.
Every player will have personal goals, whether it’s winning trophies, earning promotion, getting more minutes, returning from injury, or simply enjoying the game again. Whatever your ambitions are, I hope this season is a successful one for you.
As players, we all understand the highs and lows that come with football. There will be great moments to celebrate, but there will also be setbacks, disappointments and difficult periods. That’s part of the game.
Looking Out for One Another
What is important is that we continue to look after one another.
Check in on your teammates. Support those returning from injury. Reach out to someone who might be struggling, whether that’s with football or with life away from the pitch. Sometimes a simple conversation can make a huge difference.
At PFA Northern Ireland, we’re here to support every player, not just when things are going well, but especially when they’re not.
Whether you’re dealing with injury, contract issues, mental wellbeing, career advice, or challenges away from football, please remember that you’re never on your own. Don’t be afraid to ask for help. Speaking to someone is a sign of strength, not weakness.
Football careers are short, but the friendships, experiences and support we give each other can last a lifetime.
On behalf of the PFA Northern Ireland Executive Committee, I’d like to wish every player, club, manager, referee and supporter a safe, enjoyable and successful season.
Good luck to you all — we look forward to seeing you throughout the season.
