New Player Contract
Introduced in July 2026, with direct guidance for players.
PFA NI is advising players on how the contract should have been implemented, what it means for them and the key provisions that have changed. This helps players understand their position before signing and supports proper application of the new framework.

FIFPRO Full Status Membership
Positive progress towards becoming a FIFPRO Full Status Member.
The MDAS report received a very encouraging response and PFA NI’s application is due to be considered by the FIFPRO Global Board. We have received strong encouragement to believe that PFA NI will become a Full Status Member at the FIFPRO Global Annual General Conference in Panama this November.

PFA NI Player Portal
Live for women players and amateur contract players.
Onboarding begins this week, followed by male professional players in the next phase. The portal provides PFA NI with its own channel for memberships, insurance claims, guidance and communication.

Women’s Insurance
A proven Kingsbridge partnership delivering care.
More than 15 women players have already received scans and treatment through the programme, including two players who required ACL surgery. The partnership is providing a fast route into expert medical care.

Gambling Support Group
Our collaboration with the Irish FA will provide players with a valuable, real-time level of gambling support when they need help.
Women’s club visits
Our successful Player Support Funding application will support direct visits to women’s clubs and bring practical support closer to players.
NAFL and NIWFA Partnerships
PFA NI’s partnerships with the Northern Amateur Football League and Northern Ireland Women’s Football Association are bringing our support services directly to amateur league players across the men’s and women’s game.
Players will have greater access to injury insurance, medical and wellbeing support, confidential counselling, education and career guidance, contract advice and other PFA NI membership benefits.
Red Button
Funding will support awareness of the reporting resource and help players report match-fixing concerns safely.
